A wind energy pioneer

1991 - La Compagnie du Vent installed the first French wind turbine in Port-la-Nouvelle (Aude).
1993 - La Compagnie du Vent built the first French windfarm in Port-la-Nouvelle.
2000 - La Compagnie du Vent installed and put in operation for the 'Compagnie Eolienne du Détroit' (CED) the first Moroccan windfarm in Al Koudia Al Baïda (50,4 megawatts), which produced 2% of the Kingdom's electricity.
2005 - La Compagnie du Vent opened five new windfarms, taking its total French output to 43 megawatts. It designed, installed and put in operation for Lafarge Morocco, the world's first windfarm, connected directly to a cement works in Tétouan (Morocco, 10,2 megawatts), acknowledged as part of the Clean Development Mechanism in the Kyoto Protocol (the first for France and Morocco).
2009 - La Compagnie du Vent installed an initial solar photovoltaic plant with a 82.8 kilowatt peak output on a barn in the Lozere region.
2011 - La Compagnie du Vent has installed and now runs 14 new windfarms, taking their total output to 232.50 megawatts and has started the construction of several other new French windfarms.
